Message from Chief and Council

Dear Tribal Citizens:

RE: 2006 — 2007 Long Plain First Nation Annual Report & Consolidated Audit

The Long Plain Council are very pleased and honored to present our 9th edition of the Long Plain First Nation Annual Report & Consolidated Audit. We continue to strive to provide a first class report on our activities and accomplishments during the fiscal year. This report provides our citizens an accurate picture on the state of our Nation.

Long Plain has been very fortunate in the areas of economic development and housing in the past few years and the future looks promising to continue on the road to prosperity. This could not be achieved without the hard work of our council, staff and the support of our citizens.

In the area of economic development we have a number of projects that we are close to rolling out. These projects include the six million dollar irrigation project in addition to the Keeshkeemaquah Mall project. We are also actively engaged in the conversion and development of our Winninpeg urban reserve project.

Long Plain is currently in the middle of a housing boom with well over 100 homes being built between 2006 and 2008. We are confident that our housing developments will continue with the expected announcement of new housing programs in the near future.

We will continue on the march of good governance and will work tirelessly to improve the standard of living for our citizens. We would like to thank you, the citizens of Long Plain for your understanding, patience and your continued support to our government.

Long Plain First Nation Chief and Council;
